Attorney's Fees

In most cases, attorney's fees for Social Security Disability appeals are earned on a contingency basis. In other words, a fee is payable only if the case is won. The fee is 25 percent of the first retroactive benefit check for you and your beneficiaries. Medical record costs are extra. Attorney's fees are set by federal law and must be approved by the Social Security Administration.

Tip of the Day

A symptom diary can help prove a disability case. The diary can be as simple as a wall or desk calendar or a spiral notebook. Jot down the severity of your symptoms as well as their affect on your daily activities.
