Cathy Brackin has been advocating for the injured and disabled of Gloucester County since 1985. Graduated Montclair State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979; received Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University - Camden in 1984.

Admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives.

Miss Brackin directs and teaches in the Christian Education program at her church and resides in Camden County.

Major League Baseball has changed the name of the "disabled" list to the "injured" list. What do you think and what does the term "disabled" mean to you?

In the event of a government shutdown this month, the Social Security offices will remain open. Hearings will be held and benefits paid.

Residents of Guam, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and American Samoa are not eligible for SSI. A set of twins, one of whom residies in Guam, have filed lawsuits challenging this.
